The Cure for Murder on Campus
Efraim Villamizar
There are many reasons why this problem should stop. For example, how do I feel about this problem as a potential victim and how to solve it - this huge problem that is affecting our community in general.
First: a little about my life. I'm from Caracas, Venezuela. I used to live in a place that was calm, but I attended a violent school. Since I moved here, I am attending what looks like a perfect school - and it's pretty peaceful - but I've also noticed in this country, there've been some situations that I never thought about before - campus massacres. I'd love not to see these situations happen again.
Second: how to prevent it. Well, it seems so hard but I see it as so easy. Just a few things can turn into huge things. For example, treat every single person as equal. In addition, value people for what they are and represent. Also, I think this problem could be solved by talking to your friends and being honest and sincere. However, you should be asking: How does this kid feel every day going to school with the knowledge of this situation? Well, I can say that I'm not scared or intimidated even though I know it could happen at any time to anyone at school.
Last: as you can see, massacres on campus could affect anyone. But just by doing little things, we can make the difference.
