Let's make every person more important than the differences that would keep us apart. Let's make every person more important than the death that would take them from us.
How to stop unneccessary death is one of the questions you ask? My question is: Are there any necessary deaths?
If the focus remains or is again and again directed to that which is deemed unwanted, this is where the energy goes. Our thoughts and feelings have power to reckon with. So giving this power to what is unwanted means feeding the unwanted with our power.
We think about problems such as violence in schools and the like and wonder how this can be stopped. Which means pushing against it! That is not the way. The way that would work much better, if more and more people understood how to navigate and direct their emotional and mental energy, is to simply hold the image of people being loving, caring and accepting towards one another, and to FEEL it in the heart. Wake up every day and bless the goodness that is somewhere inside of everyone, no matter how hidden. People hurt others or themselves not because they are bad but because they are hurting so much they cannot feel any good feelings anymore and just have to find a way for this pain to go.
It all starts at home. Seeing to it that we all stop judging, cursing, blaming or shaming anything or anyone and taking care that our inner light outshines our own darkness which, with every angry thought and feeling, contributes to the violence we see in the world. Be at peace and be peace, no matter what occurs. That is our job. And it takes commitment and determination and work and discipline. Be gentle with the process, one day at a time, and every cell of our bodies will respond to it. Our loved ones and everyone we meet will be affected by this peace. Ghandi said it: Be the peace you want to see in the world.
